Dual-Fuel Power Plants and High-Voltage Transmission Line,
Gabon
A reliable Foundation for The Country’s Modern Energy Infrastructure
Tetracon delivered control systems for Gabon's first dual-fuel power plants and a high-voltage transmission line, supplying 115 MW of power to Libreville and Port-Gentil. The project integrated power generation, gas and fuel systems, and the national grid, establishing a reliable foundation for the country’s modern energy infrastructure.
The project involved building Gabon's first dual-fuel power plants and high-voltage transmission line using new MAN engine technology, requiring complex integration of power generation, fuel systems, and the national grid across multiple substations and control centers.
Alenakiri Power Plant: Implemented a Siemens S7-400 and S7-300 PLC-based control system with approximately 2,500 I/O points, managed through a GE SCADA platform.
Port-Gentil Power Plant: Delivered a similar Siemens S7-400/S7-300 solution, controlled via WinCC SCADA, ensuring compatibility and centralized monitoring.
High-Voltage Transmission Line: Designed and deployed a Siemens Sicam PAS-based control system, integrating three substations and two urban control centers for optimized energy distribution.
The project provided Gabon with a reliable and modern power generation and transmission solution, enabling energy delivery to key regions and setting the foundation for future energy infrastructure in the country.
