Reliable Power in Remote Peru
Tetracon supported the development of a new power plant and high-voltage line in Iquitos, Peru, delivering reliable electricity to a remote region previously underserved by the grid. The plant includes seven diesel and heavy-fuel generators.
Building and operating a power station in the Amazon basin posed major logistical and technical hurdles. The system needed to run in island mode, integrate with Peru’s aging grid, and support multilingual operation.
Tetracon delivered three tailored SCADA systems:
A redundant control system for 24/7 generator management
High-voltage line control with millisecond-level event logging and utility integration
A fuel delivery control system linked to a nearby refinery
All systems included multilingual HMIs and dynamic reporting for performance and cost tracking.
