Automotive Supplier- Control System Upgrade,
Luxembourg

Meticulous preparations,

On-site execution with Minimum Downtime

Overview

Tetracon upgraded the control and testing systems of three automotive fuel tank valve assembly machines with minimal production downtime. Through meticulous preparation and on-site execution during a holiday shutdown, each machine was fully operational within two days, with final acceptance achieved in just four days per machine.

Challenge

An automotive supplier required an upgrade of the testing and control systems for three assembly machines that manufacture fuel tank valves. The goal was to complete the upgrade during the shortest possible production downtime, minimizing impact on factory output.

Tetracon Solution

Tetracon developed a new testing model, validating it extensively in the lab to meet the client’s strict quality requirements before on-site implementation. Detailed preparations included:

  • Full wiring diagrams and labeling for quick replacement
  • Understanding machine-specific variations, products, and requirements
  • Pre-fabrication of wiring components offsite

Our team arrived at the factory during a holiday shutdown to avoid production losses. We carefully dismantled and replaced only the necessary parts, commissioned the machines, and performed testing and adjustments.

Each machine was back in production within a couple of days.
